Sioux Falls Outlasts Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, IN (December 22, 2011) -The Sioux Falls Skyforce held on for the victory against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 100-96 at the Memorial Coliseum. The lead went back and forth 19 times throughout the contest.

The first quarter of play saw a clean, closely contested frame with few fouls and fewer turnovers. Ron Howard led the Mad Ants with six points, and Dominique Coleman paced the Skyforce with seven.

Both teams continued to battle as the lead changed 12 times in the half. Cameron Jones of the Mad Ants took over in the second quarter scoring 12 times and leading Fort Wayne to a 50-47 advantage at the half.

Casey Mitchell of the Skyforce stole the show in the third quarter scoring 14 points to give the Skyforce a two point advantage going into the fourth.

The fourth quarter was a battle much like the first three. Jones hit a contested three to give the Mad Ants the lead at 93-92 with 3:00 left in the game. Charles Garcia took the lead back for the Skyforce with a 20' jump shot of his own. Sioux Falls would hold on to the lead throughout the final minutes of the game.

Ron Howard led the Mad Ants with a game-high 28 points, and Tory Jackson played bigger than his point guard frame would suggest contributing 13 rebounds to go along with his six points and game-high seven assists.

Casey Mitchell led the Skyforce with 26 points, and Garcia reached a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
