Tri-City Storm News Release

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Musketeers (18-27-11) got two goals from three different players on their way to an 8-1 win over the Tri-City Storm at the Tyson Events Center on Friday night.

Storm forward Michael Vecchione scored his team leading twenty-third goal in the first period and also picked up his first fighting major of the season, dropping the gloves in the third.

The Musketeers took the early 1-0 lead when Michael Kapla scored the first goal of the night 4:22 into the first frame.

Tri-City then evened the score on Vecchione's tally under two minutes later. The veteran forward received a perfect pass from linemate Trevor Moore and beat Sioux City netminder Kyle Hayton with a shot to the bottom left side of the net. Grant Opperman was credited with the second assist on the goal.

The score was still 1-1 at the start of the second, but the Musketeers regained the lead with two goals in the first 1:45 of the middle frame by Conor McGlynn and Trevor Olson.

Sioux City opened up their lead in the third, getting two tallies from both Jake Guentzel and Christian Lampasso. McGlynn added his second of the night with the final goal of the game at 14:16.

Storm goaltender Justin Quale saw action during the third in relief of starter Tanner Creel.

Tri-City will return home to face the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
