June 18, 2012 - American Association (AA)
Sioux City Explorers News Release

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has selected Sioux City OF Michael Lang and Grand Prairie RHP Nick DeBarr as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the week.

Lang, a rookie out of Rutgers, had far and away the best week of any hitter in the American Association. His .680 average was 180 points above the next highest average over the past seven days. In addition, Lang hit six extra base hits, including a home run and two triples, while driving in eight runs.

DeBarr added to his already impressive season by picking up his fifth and sixth wins of the season. In games against Laredo and Newark, DeBarr held his opponents to four runs over 13 innings, while giving up six hits per game. The Grand Prairie right-hander moved from the bullpen to a starting role this year and has more than adjusted. He remains undefeated with a 1.43 ERA.
