Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Goldeyes have made several moves in advance of tonight's game against the Sioux Falls Pheasants.

The Goldeyes have signed outfielder Dan Barbero and right-handed pitcher Brian Beuning, acquired right-handed pitcher Stephen Kahn from the Laredo Lemurs and placed infielder Amos Ramon on the inactive list, retroactive to June 17.

Barbero, 29, appeared in six games for the Goldeyes this season before being released on June 7. He hit .294 with a double and two RBI in 22 at-bats during those six games.

Beuning, 31, will join the Goldeyes for these three games in Sioux Falls. He pitched in Winnipeg in 2007 and 2008 and is fifth all-time on the Goldeyes' games played list for a pitcher with 87 appearances.

Kahn, 28, is a former farmhand of the Seattle Mariners. He pitched in nine games with the Lemurs this season, going 1-1 with a 4.08 ERA. He reached Double-A with the Mariners in 2006 and was drafted by Seattle in the fifth round of the 2005 MLB amateur draft. Kahn has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 17, and is expected to join the Goldeyes on Thursday.

Ramon was placed on the inactive list after suffering a separated shoulder Saturday night in Sioux City. He's expected to miss the next six to eight weeks.

The Goldeyes now have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
