Fargo-Moorhead 7, Sioux City 0
It was all Fargo-Moorhead in this one as the RedHawks shutout the Sioux City Explorers, 7-0. 3B Ryan Stovall led the way offensively for Fargo-Moorhead as he went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs batted in. RedHawks leadoff hitter Aharon Eggleston chipped with two hits of his own along with scoring a run and driving in one. Fargo-Moorhead starting pitcher Paul Burnside evened his mark at 3-3 with the win as he allowed three hits and three walks over 7 1/3 innings pitched. Player of the Week recipient RF Michael Lang went 2-for-3 for Sioux City in the loss.
Grand Prairie 8, Rockland 7 (11 Innings)
Zane Chavez's RBI single in the top of the 11th inning helps the Grand Prairie AirHogs win their ninth straight and beat the Rockland Boulders, 8-7. Grand Prairie overcame a 6-4 deficit with a run in the eighth and two more in the ninth to take a 7-6 lead. However, they could not hold it as Rockland plated a run in the bottom of the frame to tie it at 7-7 and send it to extra innings. Chavez went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI while DH Brian Myrow had a three-hit night and scored two runs. AirHogs reliever Griffin Bailey was the winner after tossing a scoreless inning of work. Rockland CF Chris Valencia had a 4-for-6 game with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBI in defeat.
Sioux Falls 6, Winnipeg 5
Sioux Falls plated two in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally past the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 6-5 and win their fourth straight. The Pheasants took a 1-0 in the first inning thanks to a RBI single by RF Cristian Guerrero. The Goldeyes would then plate a run in the second, two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to a take a 4-2 lead. Sioux Falls would tie it back up at 4-4 in the seventh only to see Winnipeg take a 5-4 advantage in the ninth on a fielder's choice. That set the stage for the Pheasants in the bottom of the frame as RBI singles by PH Jonny Kaplan and 1B Cesar Nicolas brought home the tying and winning runs.
Wichita 10, Amarillo 5
The Wichita Wingnuts scored early and often as they doubled up the Amarillo Sox, 10-5. Wichita scored in the each of the first four innings of the game and had a 6-2 lead after four. Amarillo would cut it to one in the fifth with three runs but the Wingnuts tacked on four in the sixth and would never be threatened again. Wichita 2B Jake Kahaulelio went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI and DH John Rodriguez had a 2-for-5 game with a home run and four RBI. Wingnuts starting pitcher Ryan Hinson notched the win as he allowed five earned runs on eight hits.
Kansas City 8, El Paso 1
Kansas City scored six runs in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead and would cruise from there to an 8-1 win over the El Paso Diablos. T-Bones CF Gus Milner had three hits on the night with a double, run scored and two RBI while DH Ray Sadler and 1B Kala Kaaihue both had 2-for-4 nights and a home run. Kansas City starting pitcher Shaun Garceau was solid en route to his second victory of the season. Garceau tossed eight innings giving up one unearned run on seven hits with three strikeouts.
St. Paul 8, Lincoln 3
St. Paul scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second and three more in the fourth to go out to a 7-0 advantage and would roll to an 8-3 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs. Saints 1B Ole Sheldon had a good game going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. St. Paul 3B Ronnie Bourquin chipped in with three hits, including two doubles, and scored two runs. Saints starting pitcher Alberto Rolon picked up the win as he tossed six innings allowing one earned run on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts. In the loss for Lincoln, RF Stephen Holdren went 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored and two RBI.
Laredo 3, Gary SouthShore 0
A sensational performance by Laredo starting pitcher Chris Chavez leads the Lemurs to a 3-0 shutout win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Chavez tossed a complete game allowing only a walk and three hits while fanning 10 batters in a 130 pitch outing. This is Chavez's second complete game of the season. Laredo LF Palmer Karr had three hits on the night while RF Ernie Banks, Jr., 3B John Allen and 1B Stephen Pearson each collected two hits.
