Singleton Secures 2-1 Walk-Off Win for RedHawks

Oklahoma City - Jon Singleton doubled on a deep fly ball off the right field wall to score Ruben Sosa for a 2-1 walk-off win for the Oklahoma City RedHawks Monday against the Memphis Redbirds in front of 5,204 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Singleton's double with no outs secured the RedHawks' 10th walk-off win of the season and third walk-off win in the last five games, as Oklahoma City wrapped up the regular season.

PCL American Southern Division champion Oklahoma City improved to 82-62 to finish with the second-highest win total in club history. The RedHawks improved to 47-26 at home this season for the second-highest home win total for an Oklahoma City team.

The RedHawks will play the winner of the American Northern Division - either Memphis or Omaha - in the best-of-five American Conference Finals starting at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Oklahoma City scored first Monday. Jimmy Paredes led off with a double for the RedHawks, then scored on a RBI single by Jose Martinez in the first inning.

A RBI groundout by Greg Garcia brought home Memphis' lone run of the game in the fourth inning of the shortest game of the season for Oklahoma City (2:14).

With the score tied, 1-1, Japhet Amador singled to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning for the RedHawks. Ruben Sosa came in to pinch run for Amador and scored on Singleton's team-leading second hit of the day. The double was Singleton's 13th of the season.

RedHawks starting pitcher Ross Seaton threw a season-high eight innings, holding Memphis to one run. He allowed eight hits, walked none and struck out two. Jason Stoffel (8-1) held the Redbirds scoreless and allowed one hit in 1.0 inning pitched for the win.

Memphis starting pitcher Eric Fornataro and reliever Deryk Hooker combined to hold the RedHawks to one run and five hits through eight innings. Memphis reliever Lee Stoppelman (1-1) was charged with the loss. Memphis fell to 69-75.

Oklahoma City now heads to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The RedHawks open the best-of-five PCL American Conference Finals at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday against either Memphis or Omaha at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The series will continue with Game 2 at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in Bricktown, while Game 3 will be played on the road. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, will also be played on the road.
