Matt Angle homered and Eliezer Alfonzo had three hits to lead the Albuquerque Isotopes to a 4-3 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs in the 2013 season finale.
Angle's two-run homer in the third inning broke a 1-1 tie, and Damaso Espino provided an important insurance run with a two-out single in the top of the ninth to give the Isotopes a 4-2 cushion.
Kyle Skipworth blasted his 11th home run of the year in the bottom of the ninth off Javy Guerra, and a two-out error by shortstop Justin Sellers put the tying run on base before Guerra struck out Jordan Brown to end the game.
Albuquerque grabbed the lead in the top of the first when Brian Barden doubled with two outs and scored on a single by Alfonzo. The Zephyrs answered in the bottom of the frame, as Bryan Petersen led off with a single, Gil Velazquez walked and Kevin Kouzmanoff singled to load the bases for Kevin Kouzmanoff, who lifted a sacrifice fly to center.
Angle's two-run shot in the third put Albuquerque ahead for good, but the Zephyrs drew to within a run in the fourth. Kyle Jensen singled with one out, stole second, and scored on a single up the middle by Joe Mahoney.
Matt Magill (6-2) gave up two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win for the Isotopes. Elih Villanueva (2-3), starting the Zephyrs' season finale for the third consecutive season, was charged with three runs and seven hits in six innings to suffer the loss.
Guerra earned his 12th save in 13 opportunities.
New Orleans finished the season with a 72-72 record, the first time in franchise history the Z's ended the year at the .500 mark.
