Silvertips Recall Goaltender Blake Lyda

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), proud member of the Western Hockey League, and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Blake Lyda from the Canadian Athletic Club Canadians (AMMHL).

Lyda, 15, was listed by the Silvertips as an affiliated player for this season and is 0-1-1-0 in three appearances with a 3.29 goals-against-average and .896 save percentage. The native of Edmonton made his WHL debut on Oct. 18 against Tri-City, a 3-2 overtime defeat and held the Americans scoreless for the first 47:09 of the game, earning third star of the game honors.

The 6-foot-1, 161-pound netminder went 13-6-5 in 24 games with the CAC Canadians with three shutouts, a 2.46 goals-against-average, and ranking sixth in the league with a .931 save percentage. He was originally selected by the Silvertips in the fourth round (86th overall) of the 2017 WHL Draft.

The Silvertips currently carry three goaltenders on their roster: Lyda, Carter Hart, and Dustin Wolf.
