Portland is still in a battle for top spot in the U.S. Division, sitting four points back of Everett, but with a game in hand. The Winterhawks own the tie-breaker with the Silvertips, as Portland took the season series 5-4-0-1.
The Hawks have three more games in the regular season, with all three contests coming this weekend. Portland hosts the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday at the Moda Center. Then, after heading to Kent on Saturday, Portland welcomes the Spokane Chiefs to town on Sunday for the final game of the regular season.
