Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips forward Kyan Grouette is raising money for men's health through a fundraiser on the Movember website.

Grouette, 17, is honoring his uncle Chris who succumbed to an aggressive form of prostate cancer in October of 2017, survived by his wife and three young children.

"He was an amazing man and doctor that dedicated his life to his patience and his family," Grouette said. "This loss made a huge impact on our family, so we'd like to raise some money and awareness so that other people may not have to suffer like our family has."

Movember is a charitable organization focused on men's mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Each November, participants are encouraged to grow mustaches to raise awareness of the organization and its initiatives.
