BEST START EVER
The Rebels set new franchise records for best start to a season and longest team win streak by winning 15 consecutive games to begin the 2022-23 WHL Regular Season. The 2000-01 Rebels team won their first seven games enroute to winning the Memorial Cup. The following year in 2001-02, the Rebels won 14 consecutive games in Jan-Feb.
BACK FROM OUT EAST
The Rebels are back in Red Deer after playing six games in nine nights in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, going 2-3-0-1. Red Deer started the eastern swing with wins in Swift Current and Moose Jaw before suffering two setbacks in Winnipeg, a shootout loss at Brandon, and a trip-ending loss at Regina.
ANOTHER BUSY WEEK AHEAD
There are still two more road games for the Rebels before they return to home ice.
Tuesday night, November 15, the Rebels visit the Edmonton Oil Kings for the third time this season for a 7 p.m. tilt versus the Oil Kings. Then on Friday, November 18, the Rebels visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the first time this season (7 p.m. start).
This Saturday, November 19, the Rebels return to the Peavey Mart Centrium to battle the Brandon Wheat Kings (7 p.m.) on Ag Appreciation Night, presented by Brandt. It will be Red Deer's first home game in three full weeks after being out away for the Canadian Finals Rodeo and AgriTrade.
WHO'S HOT?
- Forward Kai Uchacz is second in the WHL with 16 goals and is tied for second with four game winning goals. Uchacz leads all Rebels skaters with 22 points this season
- Defenceman Hunter Mayo has six power play goals, the most among WHL defenceman and tied for second-most among all WHL players this season
