South Bend, IN (June 5, 2010) - After a nail-biter on Friday night, the South Bend Silver Hawks made it appear effortless on Saturday with a 12-1 win over the Burlington Bees at Coveleski Stadium.

Bees starter Nick Wooley (L, 2-4) pitched two hitless innings before ceding crooked numbers to the Silver Hawks in the third and fourth innings. Twenty batters came to the plate between the two frames, including back-to-back two-run doubles from a pair of 2009 first rounders, Bobby Borchering and Matt Davidson.

Three South Bend batters - Borchering, Matt Helm, and Alberto Diaz -enjoyed three-hit days, and the Silver Hawks' eight doubles were season highs.

As good as South Bend was at the plate, Brad Gemberling (W, 1-3) was equally adept on the hill. The Princeton product allowed a run on two hits in seven innings with three strikeouts.

The Bees, meanwhile, managed only three singles on the day, with Deivy Batista picking up the lone RBI on a sixth-inning groundout that brought Jose Bonilla home. Ryan Dennick pitched three and a third innings of scoreless relief after Wooley left in the fourth.

The Bees close out the series in South Bend on Sunday afternoon. Join us at GoBees.com or on News Radio 1490 KBUR for the Casebine Community Credit Union Pregame Show at 12:40 Central time followed by first pitch at 1:00.
