South Bend Silver Hawks News Release

South Bend, IN - In conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the South Bend Silver Hawks have announced the following roster moves:

*RHP Adam Worthington joins team from extended spring training.

*INF Victor Estevez rejoins team from high-A Visalia

*C Jae Yun Kim sent to extended spring training

*LHP Keny Sosa released from the Diamondbacks organization

Worthington was the Diamondbacks 20th round selection in 2009 from the University of Illinois-Chicago. The right handed reliever pitched in 19 games for Missoula last season, compiling a 5-4 record and a 1.82 ERA. A strikeout pitcher, Worthington had 36 strikeouts in 29.2 innings while only walking three batters in 2009.

Estevez started the year with South Bend but was called up to high-A Visalia to replace '09 Silver Hawk Reynaldo Navarro, who was traded to Kansas City in early May. Estevez had played a utility role for South Bend in April, batting .205 with two RBIs. Estevez was batting just .194 in 20 games with the Rawhide.

Kim was the third catcher for South Bend, used sparingly since Errol Hollinger returned from the disabled list. The first Korean to ever play for the Silver Hawks, Kim appeared in just five games, collecting two hits in 16 at-bats.

Sosa had allowed 12 runs in his last 2.2 innings pitched, including a seven run inning allowed to the Peoria Chiefs on Wednesday. The 23-year-old lefthander was in his fifth season of affiliated ball and was released with a 1-0 record but 6.45 ERA this season. Sosa's career record was 13-13 with an ERA hovering around four.

The South Bend roster currently stands at 25 active players plus one on the disabled list. The Midwest League allows for 25 active players.

The Silver Hawks are at home to take on the Burlington Bees tonight at 5:30 PM Eastern Time. For more information about the Silver Hawks or to purchase tickets, please visit www.silverhawks.com.
