Flint Firebirds News Release
The Firebirds welcomed 30 prospects and families to Flint Friday for tours of the Dort Federal Event Center and Flint and Genesee County, fitness testing, medicals and photos. Both Team Blue and Team White completed one on-ice practice session in preparation for Saturday's intra-squad scrimmages.
Join us Saturday, April 21st for the annual tailgate party and 'Blue vs. White Game' from 2-6 p.m at Iceland Arenas. The event is free to the public but the team is suggesting a minimum admission donation of $5 dollars in an effort to support and fundraise for the survivors and families of the victims in the Humboldt Broncos tragedy. This will be matched (and multiplied) by the Firebirds Foundation and participating team sponsors and supporters.
There will be music, complimentary hot dogs, beverages and a kids fun zone sponsored by Funtastic Inflatables. The event is open to the public and will happen rain or shine.
Immediately following the game, fans can meet and greet current Firebirds Luke Cavallin, Marcus Gretz, Kyle Harris and Ethan Keppen as well as 2018 first-round draft pick Evan Vierling, Vice President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Barclay Branch, the coaching staff and all of the Firebirds' OHL draft and free agent prospects.
