Petes Community Gathers for 2017-18 Awards Banquet

(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes players, staff, family, and friends gathered at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Friday, April 20 for the annual Awards Banquet. The night was packed with excellent presentations along with a phenomenal meal to commemorate the 2017-18 season.
Following speeches by President Dave Pogue, Interim Head Coach Andrew Vern, and captain Logan DeNoble, the following awards were presented:
- Petes Executive Trophy (most valuable player voted by teammates) - Dylan Wells & Nikita Korostelev
- Molson Cup (most three star selections voted by media) - Nikita Korostelev
- Don Marsh Award (most dedication to team) - Dylan Wells
- Ushers Trophy (best defenceman) - Declan Chisholm
- Bill Bennett Award (leading scorer) - Nikita Korostelev (75 points)
- Ed Rowe Memorial Trophy (most goals) - Logan DeNoble (31 goals)
- Mark Teevens Trophy (most assists) - Nikita Korostelev (45 assists)
- Ed Redmond Memorial Award (scholastics and hockey) - Zach Gallant
- Outboard Marine Veterans Trophy (sportsmanship and ability) - Semyon Der-Arguchintsev
- Norm Bryan Award (most improved player) - Pavel Gogolev
- Black's Family Trophy (rookie of the year) - Nick Robertson
- Vince and Lottie Garvey Award (off-ice contribution) - Dr. Crawford Dobson
In addition, the Booster Club, Board of Directors, and Alumni Association presented gifts to the graduating and overage players (Black, DeNoble, Korostelev, Wells, Osmanski, Timleck, Paquette, Timms, and Dow).
At the end of the evening, General Manager Mike Oke made a final presentation thanking the many individuals who help the team function. To conclude the event, Oke introduced players selected in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection and 2018 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection, presenting them with a draft hat and Petes jersey.
The drafted players and other prospects will compete at the 2018 Petes Development Camp on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22. Fans are encouraged to attend scrimmages throughout the camp, details on which can be found here.
Fans interested in purchasing new season tickets or switching their existing seats are encouraged to try out available seats during Saturday's scrimmages.
