
Sierra Go-Ahead Homer Sends Skeeters to Win over El Paso

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - Miguelangel Sierra launched a go-ahead three-run home run to propel the Sugar Land Skeeters to a 6-4 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday night at Constellation Field.
Sierra sent his three-run shot to left field in the fourth inning to put the Skeeters up after trailing 3-0 through the top of the second inning. Sierra, who now has eight homers on the year, has homered in each of his last three appearances.
Michael Papierski opened the Skeeters scoring with an RBI single in the bottom half of the second and CJ Hinojosa hit a solo shot - his ninth home run of the season - in the third. JJ Matijevic delivered an RBI single in the fourth, leading up to Sierra's home run.
The Skeeters tallied seven hits in the four-run fourth inning, matching their most hits in an inning this season.
Peter Solomon got the start and collected the winning decision, striking out seven to just one walk, while allowing four runs on eight hits through five innings. El Paso left-hander Kyle McGrath started the game and surrendered four runs through three innings of work. Lefty Nick Ramirez allowed the home run to Sierra and received the losing decision.
Josh James continued his MLB Rehab Assignment, tossing a scoreless sixth inning and totaling 23 pitches. It was the 10th appearance of his rehab assignment, and his eighth with the Skeeters.
Right-hander Colin McKee is set to start game two of the doubleheader for the Skeeters at Constellation Field.
