CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (24-37, 52-77) fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (26-34, 62-68) by a 2-1 score in the third game of the five-game series at AT&T Field on Sunday afternoon.
Chattanooga left-handed pitcher Dietrich Enns (4-5) earned the win, going the game's final seven innings whre he allowed just one run on three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Robert Dugger (6-6) took the loss, working all eight innings where he allowed two runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Andy Wilkins started the scoring for the Lookouts in the bottom of the second with a solo homer, ending Dugger's scoreless streak at 16 innings. Chattanooga made it a 2-0 game in the bottom of the third, as Tanner English tripled, then Luke Raley brought him home on a sacrifice fly.
The Jumbo Shrimp made it a 2-1 game in the top of the sixth inning, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Bryson Brigman that scored Brian Miller, and that was the game's final run.
The Jumbo Shrimp and Lookouts will continue their series with the fourth contest of the five-game set on Monday night at AT&T Field at 7:15 p.m. eastern. Right-handed pitcher Dustin Beggs (1-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Chattanooga right-handed pitcher Clark Beeker (0-0, 0.00 ERA). Jacksonville returns home Thursday, Aug. 30, for the season's final series with the Mississippi Braves, beginning with a doubleheader at 5:05 p.m. on Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, when fans can purchase $1 12-oz. and $2 24-oz. beers adjacent to the Budweiser Tiki Terrace, the right-field concourse, and the Oasis concession stand behind section 115. $1 small sodas are sold at the concession stands. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. for Football Night in Jax, when fans can enter to win tickets to many different football games in the southeast. Jacksonville University Night will include alumni and students celebrating the start of another year at Jacksonville University. The game is also presented by Cox Media.
