Colorado Eagles News Release

WINDSOR, CO- The defending champion Colorado Eagles have been plagued by injuries for a majority of the 2005-06 season. The team has not played a game with a full bench since December 10, 2005 against the Memphis RiverKings forcing the team to make some roster moves.

Defenseman Jesse Cook, who won the President's Cup with the Eagles last season, has returned to the lineup due to the Eagles losing two players to the 14-day injured reserve list. Matt Desrosiers was placed on the 14-day IR after missing the past 11 games with an injury and Sean Robertson was added to that list today as well. Cook, who played for the Eagles in the team's first two seasons, will be in the lineup for Friday night's game against the Fort Worth Brahmas. The 6'5", 220 pound native of Denver, Colorado played in a total of 114 games for Colorado and had 36 points (7-29-36) with 216 penalty minutes. During the Eagles' championship run last season, Cook had seven points in 16 playoff games and was also +10.

The Eagles will welcome back 2005 Playoff MVP Chris Hartsburg this Friday, March 10 against the Fort Worth Brahmas. Hartsburg has not played since December 10 missing a total of 34 games due to a sports hernia. In 21 games this season, the former Colorado College center has recorded four goals and 12 assists for 16 points. Colorado also welcomed back power forward Ryan Tobler on Wednesday night who missed the previous five games while attending services for his father Bill who passed away on February 25, 2006.

"Although our lineup has been depleted for quite sometime, our progress as a team has continued to move forward," exclaimed Eagles Vice President and Head Coach Chris Stewart. "Ultimately, we want to be at one-hundred percent when we enter the playoffs."

Colorado has eight more games remaining in the 2005-06 regular season. They play at home this weekend on Friday and Saturday night against the Fort Worth Brahmas, both games are slated for a 7:05 pm start. The Eagles need six more points to clinch their third straight Northwest Division Title.
