SALISBURY, MD: The Delmarva Shorebirds (20-26) earned their second win in a row over the Salem Red Sox (20-27) by a score of 10-2 on Saturday Night.

After a scoreless first, the Red Sox took the lead in the second with two outs on a single by Albertson Asigen, making it 1-0 Salem.

The Shorebrids would then take their first lead of the game in the fourth without the benefit of a hit as a walk and a hit batter came around to score on three wild pitches, giving Delmarva a 2-1 edge after four innings.

Delmarva would take advantage of more wild pitches in the next few innings as Randy Florentino scored on one in the fifth, with Adam Crampton touching home on another in the sixth to make it a 4-1 game. The Shorebirds would score again in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk to Matthew Etzel, putting Delmarva ahead 5-1.

The Red Sox would look to start up a comeback in the seventh on an RBI double by Claudio Simon to cut the deficit to 5-2.

But the offense for the Shorebirds would put the game away for good in the eighth as they scored two runs on an error off the bat of Tavian Josenberger, followed by a two-run double by Anderson De Los Santos. Noelberth Romero then swapped spots with De Los Santos at second as he scored him with a two-bagger to make it 10-2 heading into the ninth.

Angel Vargas would get the final three outs in the ninth to close out Delmarva's second straight victory over Salem, by a final score of 10-2.

Alfred Vega (4-4) was awarded the victory in relief with Noah Dean (1-8) taking the loss for Salem. Angel Vargas (1) earned his first career save by recording the final six outs of the game.

Delmarva will now go for a series win over the Red Sox on Sunday evening as Edgar Portes draws the start against Jedixon Paez for Salem with first pitch at 5:05 p.m.
