Shorebirds Game Suspended on Saturday Due to Rain

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds game against the Asheville Tourists on Saturday night has been suspended due to rain. The game was suspended in the top of the third with runners at second and third for the Tourists. The game will be resumed on Sunday starting at 1:05pm. The Shorebirds and Tourists will play their regularly scheduled Sunday game thirty minutes following the completion of the suspended game. The second game on Sunday is scheduled for seven innings.

Eduardo Rodriguez faced just one batter over the minimum over the first two innings. He struck out two over the first two innings and did not allow a hit. In the third, Brian Humphries singled and Jose Rivera walked. Then, Delta Cleary, Jr. dropped a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners. With a 2-1 count on Trevor Story, the players were called off the field and never returned.

Asheville starter Vianney Mayo struck out two batters and did not allow a hit over the first two innings.

Fans that had tickets to Saturday's game can redeem them at the Shorebirds Box Office for any future 2012 home game at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.
