STAT OF THE DAY: Nicky Delmonico has reached base in 24 of 28 games played this season. Since his current on-base streak began, his batting average has gone from .132 to .269 and his on-base percentage has gone from .250 to .404.

PREVIEW: After a 2-5 road trip to Savannah and Charleston, the Shorebirds return for a seven-game homestand against Kannapolis and Lakewood. The Shorebirds enjoyed a league wide off day yesterday. Over the next 28 days, the Shorebirds will play 29 games without an off day. Their next off day is scheduled for June 7. The Shorebirds are in fourth place in the Northern Division, eight games back of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

BIG SERIES FOR DALLES: Justin Dalles had a big series against the Charleston RiverDogs. He had hits in each game and seven hits in total (7-for-17, .411). He went 3-for-6 in the series finale with the game winning RBI in the top of the tenth inning. Dalles had four RBIs in the series. The 23-year old has hit safely in seven of eight games played this season.

18-GAME ON-BASE STREAK: Nicky Delmonico takes an 18-game on-base streak into game one against Kannapolis. During the streak, he is 23-for-66 (.348) with ten runs, seven doubles, two home runs and 14 RBIs. The longest active streak in the SAL is 22 games by Billy Burns of the Hagerstown Suns. The last time Delmonico did not reach base was April 16 against Hagerstown.

HERE COMES ESPOSITO: Jason Esposito takes a five-game hit streak, tied for a season long, into game one against Kannapolis. On Tuesday, he went 3-for-4 to end the series against Charleston. It was his first multi-hit game since April 15.

WELCOME BACK WYNSTON: In his first game since April 18 (concussion), Sawyer went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs on Tuesday against Charleston. In his first at-bat since the injury, he ripped a single into left field. In the ninth, Sawyer gave the 'Birds a two run lead with a single.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Shorebirds pitching staff has a 2.66 ERA at home and a 4.68 ERA on the road. The Shorebirds hit .262 at home and .248 on the road.
