STAT OF THE DAY: Sammie Starr is batting 3-for-4 with ten RBIs when hitting with the bases loaded this season. Last night, he hit a three-run double to left-center field. Starr hit a grand slam home run in the first inning on April 15.

PREVIEW: Following a 7-3 win in game one last night, the Shorebirds gear up for game two against Kannapolis. The Shorebirds scored four runs in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Sammie Starr capped the inning with a bases clearing double. Zach Davies pitched the final four innings to earn his second win of the season. The Shorebirds are in the midst of a long stretch without a day off. They will play 28 games in the next 27 days.

DALLES STAYS HOT: Justin Dalles takes a five-game hit streak into game two of the series. He has three multi-hit games in the last four games. Dalles has five RBIs in the last five games. Dalles is 12-for-32 (.375) with four doubles, a home run and seven RBIs.

19-GAME ON-BASE STREAK: Nicky Delmonico takes an 19-game on-base streak into game two against Kannapolis. During the streak, he is 25-for-71 (.352) with eleven runs, eight doubles, two home runs and 14 RBIs. The longest active streak in the SAL is 23 games by Billy Burns of the Hagerstown Suns. The last time Delmonico did not reach base was April 16 against Hagerstown.

HERE COMES ESPOSITO: Jason Esposito takes a six-game hit streak, a season long, into game two against Kannapolis (9-for-25, .360). He has back-to-back multi hit games. Prior to this current stretch, he had a multi hit game back on April 15. Esposito has reached base in 11 straight games.

WELCOME BACK WYNSTON: After missing 16 games with a concussion, Wynston Sawyer has returned with three hits, three RBIs and three walks in the last two games. His batting average has jumped from .185 to .242 over the last two games.

ROSTER SHUFFLE: Trent Howard was promoted to Frederick on Thursday. Jake Cowan was activated off the Temporary Inactive List.
