Lexington, KY - The Hagerstown Suns (17-15) were edged by the Lexington Legends (17-17), 4-3, in the ninth inning of a tightly contested game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Friday night.

Legends' first baseman Zach Johnson hit the game-winning RBI sacrifice-fly to score Delino DeShields Jr. from third base in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Johnson's league leading 35th RBI of the year.

DeShields Jr. finished the night 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and continues to lead the league in that category with 20 on the season. Catcher Roberto Pena finished his night 2-for-3 with a two-run double.

Legends' starter Nick Tropeano did not factor in the decision after 6.2 innings pitched, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six batters. Reliever Carlos Quevedo (1-1) earned the win, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Suns starting pitcher Alex Meyer went six innings in a no-decision. He allowed three runs on eight hits, two walks and five strike outs. Aaron Barrett (2-1) took the loss, allowing one run on one hit, one walk and one strike out.

The Suns scored all of their runs on home runs. Jason Martinson led off the seventh inning with his fifth homer of the season to drive in his 32nd RBI. J.P. Ramirez extended his season-best hitting streak to ten games with a game-tying two-run shot later in the inning.

The Suns and Legends will play game three of the series on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Taylor Hill (3-2) takes the ball for Hagerstown against Lexington's RHP Luis Ordosgoitti (0-1).
