Spokane Shock News Release
The arenafootball2 league released the schedule for the 2008 season late yesterday. The Spokane Shock home games will once again begin at 5 PM PST and will air locally on Spokane's NBC affiliate KHQ-TV. All games - home and away - can be heard live on 105.7 THE BUZZARD.
For the first time in the team history, Spokane will open the new season on the road - Sunday, March 30th - as they travel to Green Bay to take on the Blizzard in a re-match of ArenaCup VII. The Shock's first home game will be on Saturday April 5th as they take on the Stockton Lightning on Spokane Tribe Field at the Spokane Arena. This is the third season in a row that the Shock have hosted the Lighting for their first home game of the season.
The Shock will close the regular season with the final two games at home on July 19th (versus Quad City) and on July 26th (versus Boise).
"We have a challenging schedule this year," General Manager Adam Nebeker said. "But I know Coach Shackleford is putting another Championship team together and he will have the team ready to continue our winning tradition."
Five new teams will be introduced into the af2 this season - fourteen teams in the American Conference, and fifteen teams in the National Conference - for a total of 29 teams league-wide.
