Spokane Shock News Release

SPOKANE, Washington - The Indoor Football League (IFL) announced today that the membership of the Minnesota (Bemidji) Axemen has been terminated. With that adjustment, the 2016 IFL regular season schedule has been revised. Spokane's home game dates are not affected, but opponents have been slightly altered. The season will also kick off one week earlier with the opening weekend now February 19, 2016.

Spokane and Tri-Cities will open the IFL's 2016 regular season schedule in Kennewick, WA at the Toyota Center on Friday, February 19 with a 7:00 p.m. PT kickoff. Spokane's 2016 home opener is slated for Saturday, February 27 (Week 2) against the Wichita Falls Nighthawks with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Over the next month, Spokane will have two bye weeks (Week 3 and 5) along with two road games against a division opponent in the Billings Wolves on Saturday, March 12 and then the fellow 2016 IFL expansion franchise in the Minnesota Havok on Saturday, March 26.

The Iowa Barnstormers will visit Spokane Arena on Friday, April 1 (Week 7), a rivalry many Spokane indoor football fans are familiar with, as the two franchise met six times from 2010-2014 while the two teams played as a part of the Arena Football League. The following weekend on Saturday, April 9, Spokane will host the Colorado Crush.

The final ten weeks of the 2016 regular season will feature a split of home and away contests, including six contests against division opponents. Spokane will also have three games slated against the 2015 IFL UnitedBowl participants in the Sioux Falls Storm and Nebraska Danger which will include a home and home series with Sioux Falls.
