Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release

(Bossier City, LA) - The 2008 Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (af2) will open their season with two home games. The exciting home schedule features a July 4th showdown with bitter rival Rio Grande Valley, as well as return engagements with the Tulsa Talons and the Arkansas Twisters. The Wings faced all three of those teams during the 2007 af2 playoffs. "This is the most fan friendly home schedule we have had in years," said Battle Wings' owner Dan Newman. "We are especially excited about the possibilites for the Fourth of July. It's a Friday night against fierce rivals. There almost certainly will be fireworks, if you know what I'm saying."

"This schedule will be a real challenge for our team," said second-year head coach Jon Norris. "At the same time, our experiences in 2007 tell us we will put an exciting product on the field. With teams from the region, opponents our fans know well, coming to CenturyTel Center, this has the potential to be the most exciting Battle Wings season yet."

New on the schedule is the team from Austin. The Wranglers will come to Bossier City on June 7. The Battle Wings will play the last game of the regular season in Austin on July 28.

The schedule also features a Sunday afternoon game at Corpus Christi on June 29.
