
2008 Louisville Fire Arena Football Schedule Unveiled

Louisville, KY-The arenafootball2 league has released the schedule and the realignment of conferences and divisions for the 2008 season.
The Fire will open the season on March 29 against the Iowa Barnstormers. Then on April 26, the "War on 64" rivalry with Lexington will begin in Freedom Hall. The two teams will match up three times during the season; Saturday, May 31 in Lexington and Monday, June 23 in Freedom Hall. The Fire will take on rivals from last season when they host the Quad City Steamwheelers (Friday, April 11) and the Green Bay Blizzard (Saturday, June 14), and resurrect the rivalry with the Peoria Pirates on July 26 will be the last home game for the Fire in 2008. Mahoning Valley Thunder, Albany Conquest, and the Peoria Pirates will all make trips to Freedom Hall. The Fire will visit Mahoning Valley Thunder, Tennessee Valley Vipers, and the South Georgia Wildcats, as well as all divisional opponents.
The af2 has also announced the realigning of the two conferences and divisions, as well as expansion teams. The Laredo Lobos have moved to Peoria and chose to resurrect the Peoria Pirates. The Iowa Barnstormers will play their first af2 game on March 29 since the end of the 2001 season. During the 2007 season the Austin Wranglers played in the Arena Football League but they have moved to the af2 for this season. The Lexington Horsemen and the Daytona Beach Thunderbirds are also joining the af2. The Fire, Horsemen, Barnstormers, Pirates, Steamwheelers, and Blizzard will play in the Midwest Division.
