Edmonton, AB - Tonight when the Oilers took on the Ducks at Rexall Place, the Oilers Ladies and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) ran a vastly successful Shirts Off Our Backs fundraiser, giving fans the chance to win one of 25 game worn, autographed Oilers jerseys. The spirit of giving was alive at Rexall Place tonight when $19,000 was raised in support of the Winnifred Stewart Association, Joey Moss' home, Habitat for Humanity and the EOCF. Stantec matched the funds raised for a total donation of $38,000.

"The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the Oilers Ladies would like to thank Oil Country fans for their generous support tonight and throughout the season," said Natalie Minckler EOCF's Executive Director. "Thanks to their contributions we've been able to make a number of significant donations to local charitable organizations throughout Oil Country this season."

In its 28th year, Shirts Off Our Backs has become a signature fundraiser for the Oilers Ladies. This year, the 25 lucky winners were invited to centre ice at the end of the game to receive their jersey from the players themselves.

The Oilers Ladies and the EOCF have run four in-game fundraisers this season resulting donations totaling over $100,000 to the following charities: Alberta Cancer Foundation, Wings of Providence, Suit Yourself, Kids with Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, the Winnifred Stewart Association and the Christmas Bureau.

The Shirts Off Our Backs online charity auction is open until March 30 giving fans the chance to bid on 90 lot items ranging from signed Oilers equipment, Team Canada signed jerseys to Boys on the Bus signed memorabilia. Visit the online auction at edmontonoilers.com.
