Chiefs Looking To Break Playoff Trends

Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs will try to become the first team to win a game on their home ice when they host the Portland Winterhawks in games four and five of the first round of the WHL playoffs on Friday and Saturday night.
Tickets for both games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
Spokane leads the series 2-1 with both wins coming in Portland last weekend. On Wednesday night in the Arena, the Winterhawks put 49 shots on net on their way to beating Spokane 2-1 in the Arena. In the regular season, the Chiefs allowed more than 40 shots on goal just 10 times and the 49 shots allowed in game three were the most they have given up all year long.
One trend that the Chiefs would like to stop is Portland scoring the first goal, which they have done in all three games. Spokane has yet to score a goal in the first period, tallying all 10 of their scores in the second and third in the first three games.
The Chiefs allowed Portland a power play goal in their only chance in game one, but have stopped their next four opportunities in games two and three. In game three, only 10 penalty minutes were issued and three combined power plays, two for Spokane and one for the Winterhawks.
In their last seven playoff series, the Chiefs have posted a 5-2 record in game four.
Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:00. Mike Boyle will go on the air at 6:30 with Comcast HockeyTonight on 1510 KGA.
