A Quick Look Back

1.15.07 - Worcester 3 - Lowell 2 OT

Sharks defenseman Garrett Stafford scored an overtime game-winning goal to lead the Sharks to a 3-2 road win at Lowell on Monday afternoon. Dimitri Patzold was impressive in net with 23-saves for his fifth win of the season. The Sharks completed a three-game weekend with five of a possible six points, all coming on the road.

1.19.07 - Worcester 3 - Lowell 1

Coming off an overtime victory on Monday at Lowell, the Worcester Sharks entertained the Devils at home on Friday night, defeating their Atlantic Division rival for the second time in as many games by a score of 3-1. Worcester rookie Thomas Greiss continued his recent stellar play with 24 saves for the win.

1.20.07 - Springfield 2 - Worcester 1

Twenty-eight saves from Thomas Greiss was not enough for the Sharks Saturday night as they fell 2-1 at Springfield. Eric Healey scored the game-winning goal for the Falcons, who ended the Sharks streak of gaining points in the standings at four games (3-0-0-1).

1.21.07 - Worcester 3 - Lowell 2

Dimitri Patzold turned aside 33 Lowell Devils shots-on-goal and Dan Spang registered 2-assists as the Sharks defeated the Devils 3-2 for the third time this week.

Graham the Great...

Sharks forward Graham Mink has been on fire over his last four games. The Stowe, Vermont native scored four goals and assisted on another to help Worcester take six points out of a possible eight this weekend. Mink has been a force on offense this season for the Sharks since returning from an early season injury. In 25 games played, Mink has 26 (10+16=26) points and a plus-three rating.

Patzold Picks up Two...

Sharks netminder Dimitri Patzold went 2-0 this week against the Lowell Devils. Patzold made two starts this week, both in Lowell, and beat the Devils by a score of 3-2 in both games. The first game was won in overtime on a Garrett Stafford blast from the point. Patzold made 56 saves between the two games and allowed just two goals on each occasion. He is 6-3-3 on the season with a 3.57 GAA and a .881 save percentage.

Poised to Stay...

Josh Prudden is poised to stay with the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League for the rest of the season. Prudden has been going between Worcester and Fresno of the ECHL. In the last four games though, the Andover, MA native had three points (2+1=3) and a plus-two rating in the AHL. Prudden has been steady on the scoresheet in the games he has been in the lineup with 12 points (2+10=12) in 20 games.
