
Sharks assign three to Cleveland

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced Sunday that the club has assigned goaltender Dimitri Patzold and forwards Tomas Plihal and Josh Hennessy to the Cleveland Barons.
Patzold recorded an 18-16-5 record last season, leading the Barons in minutes played (2418:04), wins, save percentage (.911) and goals-against-average (2.58). His 2.58 goals-against-average was 25th in the league and his .911 save percentage was 27th best in the league.
Last season Plihal set career highs in goals (17) and points (28), and finished the season ranked third on the Barons in goals. He netted 28 points (17-11-28) in 63 games over the course of the season.
While serving as captain of the Quebec Ramparts last season, Hennessy led the team in points (85) and assists (50) and was second on the team in goals (35). His 85 points (35-50-85) ranked him third in the Central Hockey League.
The Barons will open their 2005-06 Regular Season schedule on the National City Rink located in Gund Arena on Saturday, October 8th against the Rochester Americans at 7:05pm.
