
Rivermen set first radio broadcast of 2005-06

Peoria, IL (September 26, 2005) - President and CEO Bart Rogers of the Peoria Rivermen, proud new primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, announced today that the club's third preseason game versus the Iowa Stars on Tuesday, September 27, will be broadcast LIVE on HOPE 98.5 (WPIA-FM), the flagship radio station of the Rivermen.
The LIVE broadcast of the game will begin on HOPE 98.5 at 6:45 p.m., with the opening face-off set for 7:00 p.m. Rivermen Director of Broadcasting Norm Ulrich, the "Voice of the Rivermen," will call the play-by-play action along with David Rak.
After Tuesday's contest, Peoria will conclude its preseason schedule with a home game on Friday, September 30. The Rivermen will once again meet the Iowa Stars in that tilt, scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. Then, to open the 2005-06 regular season, the Rivermen will return to Iowa on Thursday, October 6.
The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and will celebrate its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
