Shane O'Brien Recalled by Anaheim

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls today announced that defenseman Shane O'Brien has been recalled by the Anaheim Ducks, San Diego's National Hockey League affiliate.

O'Brien, 34 (8/9/83), has appeared in 14 games with San Diego this season, collecting 0-2=2 points with 35 penalty minutes (PIM). A veteran of 537 NHL games with Anaheim, Tampa Bay, Vancouver, Nashville, Colorado, Calgary and Florida, O'Brien has recorded 13-79' points and 916 PIM in his NHL career.

A native of Port Hope, Ontario, O'Brien was selected by Anaheim in the eighth round (250th overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft. The 6-3, 230-pound defenseman appeared in 62 games with the Ducks from 2006-07, collecting 2-1=14 points with a +5 rating and 140 PIM.
