
Ontario Reign Game Preview: Reign Close Road Trip Tonight against the Texas Stars

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), close a three-game road trip tonight against the Texas Stars at 5:00 PT at Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas. Tonight is the first of six meetings between the two teams this season.
Life on the Road:
The Ontario Reign are 5-2-0-0 on the road this season and 1-1-0-0 on this road trip.
The Eye of Texas:
The Reign sit 1-0-2-0 against Texas teams this season with the previous three meetings against the San Antonio Rampage. All three games were decided in overtime.
Back on Top:
With a 4-3 overtime victory over the San Antonio Rampage last night, the Reign jump back into first place of the Pacific Division with a .769 winning percentage.
The Pacific is Rising:
The Pacific Division features four teams with nine or more wins heading into tonight's contests, the most in the American Hockey League. Ontario (9-2-2-0), San Antonio (9-1-5-0), San Diego (9-5-0-1) and Texas (9-6-0-1) lead the charge. The Central Division features Lake Erie (9-3-0-2), Milwaukee (10-4-1-0) and Rockford (9-4-1-2). The North Division boasts Toronto (12-3-1-0), Albany (9-3-3-0) and St. John's (9-5-2-1) and the Atlantic Division showcases Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (12-2-0-0) and Bridgeport (12-4-1-0).
Reigning Supreme:
For the eighth straight game, the Ontario Reign hold the top penalty kill in the American Hockey League at 91.8 percent (five goals against on 61 chances) and gave up two power-play goals in a single game for the first time this season last night against San Antonio.
Scouting the Stars:
The Stars snapped a three-game losing streak last night with a 6-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers at Cedar Park Center and registered four goals in the third period. Forwards Devin Shore (10 goals, three assists) and Travis Morin (four goals, nine assists) lead the team with 13 points each.
