Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (13-19-4-1) wrap up their four-game home stand when they take on the Colorado Eagles (19-10-3-2), tonight, at the Cow Palace. This is the seventh of nine meetings between these squads this season. The Bulls are 1-5-0-0 in the season series.
Last Saturday, the Bulls lost to the Alaska Aces, 5-2. San Francisco got off to a slow start, and trailed 2-0 after the first period. They fought back but couldn't overcome the early deficit. Brett Findlay and Sebastian Stalberg scored the two tallies for the Bulls. Dale Mitchell, Riley Brace, and Dean Ouellet registered assists. Stalberg's goal was his first with the team.
After a roster shake up last week, San Francisco announced another transaction on Tuesday. They acquired forward Ryan Garlock from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for the rights to defenseman Collin Bowman. In a subsequent move, the Worcester Sharks recalled Bowman. Garlock, 27, is in his seventh year of professional hockey. In eight games with Bakersfield this season he has three points (1g, 2a). He has extensive experience in the AHL, compiling 79 points (22g, 57a) in 321 games. In the ECHL, he has produced 85 points (38g, 47a) in 79 games.
The Eagles come flying into San Francisco led by December's ECHL Player of the Month, forward Trent Daavettila. He is tied for the league lead in assists (27), and is second in the league in points (40). He has been on fire recently, totaling 18 points (7g, 11a) in his past 10 games. In addition, in six games against the Bulls, he has 11 points (5g, 6a).
San Francisco is in seventh place in the Western Conference with 31 points. They are one behind the Utah Grizzlies, and one up on the Bakersfield Condors. The Colorado Eagles are in third place in the Western Conference with 43 points. They sit two back of the Alaska Aces, and three in front of the Idaho Steelheads.
Tonight the Bulls are celebrating their second bobblehead Wednesday of the season. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Dean Ouellet bobblehead.
Following the game, the Bulls go on the road. This Friday, January 17, they will be taking on the Bakersfield Condors. The Game begins at 7:00 pm.
