Boise Hawks News Release

BOISE, Idaho - After having only scored five runs in the first two games of the series, the Boise Hawks bats came to life on Saturday night as they trounced the Tri-City Dust Devils by a score of 13-6.

The Dust Devils jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the second inning as Hawks starting pitcher, Angel Lezama struggled to find an early groove.

The Hawks answered right back with a three-run home run off the bat of Terry McClure in the bottom of the second to tie the game at five. It was the Hawks first home run of the year.

The offensive onslaught continued as the Hawks added three more runs in the fourth after Yonathan Daza sent a line drive over the right fielders head for his second triple in as many days.

The Hawks went on to add one more run in the fifth, before putting up a five spot in an eight inning that saw eight Hawks step to the plate.

Despite giving up five runs while scattering 11 hits, Lezama was credited with the win. Dust Devils pitcher, Griffin Russell received the loss after giving up three earned runs in just one third of an inning pitched.

Kevin Padlo, Terry McClure and Yonathan Daza had three RBI's apiece as the Hawks improved to 2-1 in front of the third consecutive sell out crowd at Memorial Stadium.
