(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - After getting shutout on Saturday night in Salem, the Canadians offense got a spark from DH Lane Thomas in the top of the 1st inning when he took a LHP Drew Leenhouts fastball over the left field fence to give Vancouver an early 1-0 lead. It would turn out to be the only run of the game for Vancouver who dropped a third straight game to the Volcanoes, falling 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Canadians ran into a familiar face in Leenhouts who returns to the Northwest League for a third season and once again stymied the Vancouver offense. Leenhouts would strike out nine over his seven innings to pick up his first win of the season while Canadians starter RHP Jon Wandling was respectable over his four innings of work allowing a double to Volcanoes C Miguel Gomez in the bottom of the 2nd inning which later came in to count on a ground out off the bat of RF Julio Pena.

With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning, Wandling would leave a pitch up in the zone to LF Shilo McCall who deposited in over the left field fence to give Salem-Keizer a 2-1 lead. It would be the final offense of the afternoon.

Canadians RHP Sean Ratcliffe (Ajax, ON) would pitch three perfect innings retiring all nine batters that he faced before giving way to RHP Andrew Case (St. John, NB) who outside of a 3B Chase Compton single, was also able to keep Vancouver within striking distance.

Outside of Thomas's 1st inning home run, the Canadians did not put a runner beyond second base as they fall to 1-3 (.250) on the season.

These two teams wrap up this five-game series on Monday, June 22nd at 6:35pm with LHP Dan Lietz getting the start for Vancouver.

Notes: The Canadians added five (5) roster players on Sunday including 1st Round selection in the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft as LHP Jon Harris will start the Vancouver home opener on Friday, June 26th at 7:05pm.
