
Seventeen Players Assigned To Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that 17 players were released from training camp and assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. The 'Dogs will be leaving for Edinburgh, Scotland on Tuesday where they will hold training camp until September 28th.
Of the 17 players, 10 played for the Bulldogs during the 2008-2009 season. Returning to the 'Dogs are goaltender Cedrick Desjardins, defencemen Chad Anderson and Frederic St-Denis and forwards Andrew Conboy, David Desharnais, Mike Glumac, Ryan Russell, Brock Trotter, Ryan White and J.T. Wyman. New players joining the Hamilton will be goaltender Robert Mayer (Saint John Sea Dogs- QMJHL), defencemen Andre Benoit (Sodertalje SK - SEL), Michael Busto (Charlotte Checkers - ECHL) and P.K. Subban (Belleville Bulls - OHL) and forwards Mathieu Darche (Portland Pirates - AHL), Mikael Johansson (Farjestads BK Karlstad - SEL) and Dany Masse (Drummondville Voltigeurs - QMJHL).
The Bulldogs will travel to Edinburgh, Scotland tomorrow to begin training camp. The 'Dogs will compete for the Gardiner Cup against the AHL's Toronto Marlies and the UK Elite League's Edinburgh Capitals and Belfast Giants. The Bulldogs will meet their archrival, the Marlies, in an exhibition contest at 2:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 24th. Hamilton will begin the four-team tournament with a semi-final game against the Belfast Giants at 12:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, September 26th. The two winning teams from Saturday's semi-final games will play for the Gardiner Cup in the Championship game at 12:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 27th while the two losing teams will face-off in the consolation final on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. EST.

Fans can listen to every 'Dogs pre-season, regular season and post-season game in 2009-2010 on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, Talk 820. All regular season radio and online broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the game's scheduled start time. Ellery Award-winning broadcaster Derek Wills will call the play-by-play of all 80 regular season games, while Al Craig will provide the colour commentary for all home games and select road games.
