Ducks assign Salcido to Moose

The Anaheim Ducks today announced they have assigned defenceman Brian Salcido to the Manitoba Moose.

Salcido, 24, appeared in 76 games last season with the AHL's Iowa Chops where he scored 10 goals and 33 assists for 43 points and 108 penalty minutes. The Hermosa Beach, FL native was named to the AHL second All-Star Team for the first time in his career. He also earned his first NHL recall on February 19, 2009 and made his debut with the Anaheim Ducks on February 20, 2009 at Detroit.

He spent the previous two seasons with the Portland Pirates where he played a combined 147 total games racking up 18 goals and 62 assists for 80 points and 138 penalty minutes.

Salcido was originally drafted in the fifth round, 141st overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
