NEWARK, DE.-January 14, 2014- The Delaware 87ers (3-18) hosted the Iowa Energy (14-6) for their second meeting of the season. The Sevens fell to the Energy 123-114.
For the second night in a row, Delaware forward "Tiny" Gallon, contributed significantly off the bench scoring 18 point and pulling down seven rebounds in 20 minutes of play. The Sevens outscored the Energy 48-14 in points in the paint during the first half.
Philadelphia 76ers assignee Lorenzo Brown contributed big with 18 points and dished out eight assists in 37 minutes of play. Forward, Thanasis Antetokounmpo added 17 points on 8 of 12 shooting.
After trailing for most of the game, Iowa was able to come from behind and take the lead in the third quarter. Patrick Christopher lead his team in scoring with 30 points, including 12 points from three point range on 4 of 7 three point shooting. Othyus Jeffers (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Kalin Lucus (18 points, 1 rebound) had strong games for Iowa.
The 87ers will look to bounce back from this lost on the road on January 17 in Sioux Falls against the Skyforce at 8 p.m. Home and away games can be viewed via YouTube on the NBADL channel. All home games can be heard on 91.3 WVUD.
