Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators were able to ride a seven-run first inning for the remainder of Sunday afternoon to pick up a 9-5 win over the Altoona Curve in front of 3,482 fans at Metro Bank Park.
Quincy Latimore's three-run home run highlighted the seven-run first for Harrisburg. Caleb Ramsey (2-for-5) had a two-run single and Kevin Keyes (3-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI) singled in a run as well. The Senators added insurance in the sixth inning as Keyes drove in two runs with a double to right-center field. Ricky Hague (2-for-3, run), Jose Lozada (2-for-4, two runs) and Adrian Sanchez (2-for-4, two runs) all put together multi-hit days.
Altoona scored two runs in the second and three in the third against Senators' starter James Simmons. The righty allowed six hits while striking out four in his five innings of work to pick up the victory. Colin Bates fired two scoreless innings less than 24 hours after picking up his first save of the season. Bryan Harper allowed two baserunners, but also struck out two hitters in a scoreless eighth. Robert Benincasa faced just three batters as he finished off the Curve in the ninth
