Allen Americans News Release
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Allen Americans and the Tulsa Oilers resume their best of seven series tonight at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Americans took Game 2 in dramatic fashion, erasing a 4-0 Oilers lead and winning in overtime 5-4, to take a 2-0 series lead. Tonight's puck drop is 7:35 pm .
The Americans are in the post-season by forward led by Spencer Asuchak, who has six points in two games for Allen. Asuchak had two goals in the Americans 6-2 victory Game 1.
"This is the best time of year," said Asuchak. "I remember how exciting it was last season on the way to our second straight championship, and that feeling is back. You can't wait to get to the rink in the morning for the pregame skate and 7:35 pm can't get here quick enough."
Americans defenseman, Konrad Abeltshauser is right behind Asuchak with five points. Abeltshauser had two goals in Game 2, including the game-tying goal late in the third period.
"It's so great being here," said Abeltshauser. "This is a great bunch of guys who love being around each other and know how to win. I'm really excited to be a part of the Americans and hopefully we have a long playoff run."
This is the first ever playoff series between the two clubs in Allen's six-year history. Tonight will be the first post-season game for the Americans in the BOK Center. Puck drop at 7:35 pm. Listen to the game online at www.hot1073fm.com .
