TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign and Colorado Eagles play the second game of their best-of-seven Pacific Division Semifinals matchup in Ontario. The series will then shift to Colorado for a maximum total of three games if necessary. This is the first-ever postseason meeting between Ontario and Colorado; the Eagles won the regular season series with a 7-5-0-1 record. Ontario is 21-10-5-1 all-time in regular season play against Colorado.
COUTURE RETURNS TO LEAD REIGN:
Reign captain Derek Couture returned to the lineup on Thursday night after sitting out the final eight games of the regular season. Both Couture and alternate captain Everett Sheen are tied for the most playoff games in team history with 20 each.
MAY ADDED TO BLUELINE:
Alternate captain Jeff May also was activated from reserve yesterday as well. The defenseman had missed the final nine games of the regular season, and managed one shot on goal in his return appearance for Ontario.
BLACKWATER CONTINUES TO PILE ON SHOTS:
After leading the team with 232 shots on goal during the regular season, forward Judd Blackwater showed no signs of slowing down Thursday night, as the veteran forward put up six shots for Ontario, twice that of his linemates Garry Nunn and David Rutherford combined.
