Game Preview
For the first time since the 2008-09 season when both teams were in the International Hockey League, the Kalamazoo Wings will take on the Fort Wayne Komets in the playoffs. Tonight is game one of the divisional semifinals. During the regular season, the K-Wings were 7-7-1-0 against the Komets.
Kalamazoo is making their sixth playoff appearance in the last seven seasons, including five out of the past six seasons since joining the ECHL. Last season the K-Wings lost in the first round to the Greenville Road Warriors.
Fort Wayne is making their second straight Kelly Cup playoff appearance. Last season, the Komets, who were the eighth seed, advanced to the Conference Semi-Finals after defeating the number one seeded, Reading Royals.

Forward Gergo Nagy ended the regular season on fire. Nagy finished the regular season on an eight-game point streak.
Power Source
During the regular season Kalamazoo scored 43 power-play goals. The 43 goals are the fewest registered by a K-Wings team in their 42-year history.
Good After Two
Kalamazoo was nearly perfect this season when leading after two periods. The K-Wings were 24-1-0-0 when holding a lead at the start of the third period.
Paving the Way
Kalamazoo's best weapons against Fort Wayne in the regular season were Matt Caria and Eric Kattelus. Both players led the K-Wings with 12 points against the Komets.
Home Sweet Home
During the regular season the Komets played well at home. Fort Wayne was 26-5-5 at Allen County Memorial Coliseum, including 4-2-0-0 versus Kalamazoo.
