Harrisburg Senators News Release
Erie, PA - The Harrisburg Senators lost to the Erie SeaWolves, 4-3, in walk-off fashion Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves plated three runs in the bottom of the 9th.
The SeaWolves jumped on the board in the bottom of the 4th. Casper Wells hit a leadoff single, stole second and scored on Jeff Frazier's two-out RBI double to make it 1-0.
That was all Erie would get against Harrisburg RHP Bobby Brownlie, who only allowed the single run in six innings of work.
The Senators struck for three runs in the top of the 6th. Javi Herrera reached on a two-base error and scored when Edgardo Baez followed with a double. Another double by Garrett Guzman gave Harrisburg a 2-1 lead. With two out, Marvin Lowrance lined an RBI single to left to make it a 3-1 game.
Erie put up a big inning in the 9th. Jeff Frazier poked a leadoff single to center and Pedro Cotto followed with a bouncer into right. Santo de Leon bunted the runners up and two batters later, Will Rhymes drilled a two-run double down the right-field line to tie the game at 3-3; he advanced to third base when the ball was mishandled. James Skelton stepped up and delivered a liner into right-center for a game-winning RBI single.
RHP Steve Schmoll took the loss to fall to 3-5. Erie LHP Josh Kite picked up a win to stay perfect at 3-0.
The Senators dipped to 70-66. Erie upped its record to 66-70.
The Senators and SeaWolves lock horns again on Wednesday at 7:05 PM. Harrisburg RHP Zack Segovia (2-1, 7.22 ERA) faces Erie LHP Danny Christensen (7-8, 3.95 ERA).
