Reno Silver Sox News Release
The Reno Silver Sox trailed the Chico Outlaws early in Friday's game, but thanks to an eighth inning offensive explosion, the Sox rallied to defeat the Chico Outlaws 13-9.
The Silver Sox picked up their first run of the game on a solo home run by RF Juan Senreiso to lead off the fourth inning. Senreiso would go on to have a tremendous game going 4-5 with two home runs, two doubles, and four runs scored.
When LF Casey Garrison scored for Chico in the top of the 5th inning the Outlaws posted a 5-2 lead. Reno would not score in the next three innings, but when the game moved into the eighth inning, the Silver Sox bats came to life.
The first three batters reached base, and they all went on to Score when DH Ryan Brown hit a grand slam. 3B John Hattig homered immediately after Brown, and LF Ross McCoy did likewise several batters later. Later that inning the Sox added three more runs, with Senreiso's second home run capping things off.
The Silver Sox took a 13-6 lead into the ninth inning. The Outlaws rallied for three runs, but they would not be enough.
Saturday night is a double header with the first game starting at 5 PM and gates opening at 4. It is also Spitz Sunflower seed night!
