Back to back home runs powers 'Cats over Armada, 6-3

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Cracker-Cats won their second straight game over Long Beach Armada tonight 6-3. The ‘Cats received a solid start from Nick Peterson, who went 6.0 inning, giving up only 3 earned runs, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Andrew Layfield pitched for the Armada, his final numbers were 6.1 innings, 5 earned runs, 1 walk with 5 strikeouts. Garrett Murdy gave up one earned run, while striking out 2 in the 1.2 innings he threw. Armada's second basemen, Justin Williams, was the lone offensive bright spot for the Armada tonight, he had three hits including a double in the third inning.

Ruddy Yan and Juan.Infante hit back to back home runs in the seventh inning to give reliever Dan Touchet some offensive support. Touchet struck out three and didn't allow a run in the two innings he pitched.

Right-fielder, Ruddy Yan had an outstanding game, going 5 for 5, while cashing in 3 runs.

‘Cats closer, Pete Sikaras entered the game in the ninth, and struck out the last two batters to seal the victory for Edmonton.

Following the game, members of the Cracker-Cat and fans alike shaved their hair off to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The players also sported pink hats during the game, which we will be auctioning off on our website. Fans can bid on the hats until Monday morning at 10:00 am. The Cracker-Cats will be going for three in a row versus the Long Beach Armada tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrow afternoon's game will feature a celebrity home run derby. Some of the competitors include Dave Mitchell from CTV, Cam Tait from the Edmonton Journal, and members of the Edmonton Oil Kings.
