Senators with Fourth Shut Out in a Week Defeat Binghamton 3-0

The Senators started their seven-game road trip off in fine fashion with a 3-0 win over the Binghamton Mets on Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton. Four Sens pitchers combined on the fourth shutout in the past seven games for Harrisburg.

Harrisburg took a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning on run a run scoring single off the bat of Edgardo Baez and then a two-out RBI single from Joel Guzman. The Sens tacked on one more in the fourth after Bill Rhinehart hit a lead-off double, he scored on a single off the bat of Bill Rhinehart. The Senators had a couple more scoring opportunities but failed to take advantage.

Meanwhile, Luis Atilano came off the disabled list and started for the Sens. He pitched four innings and scattered five hits, keeping the B-Mets scoreless with the help of a couple of double plays. Winning pitcher Dave Williams followed and pitched two scoreless before giving way to Clint Everts who made his AA debut tonight by pitching two scoreless innings. Josh Wilkie retired the final three batters for his first save this season.

Joel Guzman had two hits for the Sens as he continues his recent hot streak. Harrisburg was outhit 10-8 by the B-Mets.

The Series continues on Wednesday night at 7:05pm with LH Justin Jones taking on RH Eric Brown.
