Senators activate Atilano among several moves

The Harrisburg Senators have announced that RHP Luis Atilano has been activated from the disabled list and INF Michael Martinez has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 7th with a sore right shoulder. In addition, RHP Zech Zinicola has been promoted to AAA Syracuse and former 1st round draft pick RHP Clint Everts has been promoted to Harrisburg from Potomac.

Atilano has twice been on the disabled list this season, this latest time, with a blister on his pitching hand. He is expected to start tonight for the Sens at Binghamton.

Everts was Expos 1st round draft choice in the 2002 draft. He appeared in 13 games with Potomac this year going 3-0 with 2 saves and a 0.90 ERA. Everts was the Expos' top prospect according to Baseball America in 2003 and 2004.

Zinicola is heading to AAA for the second time in his career. This year he has been nearly unhittable with a 1.74 ERA. He is 1-1 with 5 saves in 5 opportunities.

Martinez had been coming on strong prior to his injury. He is batting .215 with 1 HR and 7 RBIs. Over the past ten games he was batting .250.

With these moves, the Senators roster is at 24 active players plus five players on the disabled list.
