Harrisburg Senators News Release

Saturday night at Metro Bank Park the Senators and Bowie Baysox split two, with Bowie winning game one 8-5 and the Sens bouncing back in game two with a 4-0 shutout. Ryan Tatusko and Zech Zinicola combined on the seven-hit shutout with Tatusko earning his fourth win on the season.

Destin Hood drove in Anthony Rendon with a single in the first inning of game two giving the Sens a 1-0 lead. Then in the third, Sean Nicol singled and Jimmy VanOstrand followed with his tenth home run on the season giving the Sens a 3-0 lead. Two pitches later Anthony Rendon homered for the second time with the Sens giving Harrisburg a 4-0 lead.

Meanwhile, Tatusko went five innings and scattered five hits but delivered two double plays to keep Bowie at bay. Zech Zinicola pitched the final two innings and the Sens turned a double play in each inning to finish the inning.

VanOstrand went three-for-three in game two while Justin Bloxom chipped in with two hits.

In game one, Bowie scored five runs in the first inning and hung on for an 8-5 win. Ryne Hughes hit a grand slam off Sens' starter and losing pitcher Chien-Ming Wang giving Bowie a 4-0 lead. They would score another run in the first then tack on a run in the second for a 6-0 lead before the Senators started their comeback.

The Sens plated two in the third, then another in the fourth and two more in the fifth to close to within 7-5. But that's as close as the Sens would come and Bowie scored an insurance run in the seventh inning on a home run by Zelous Wheeler.

Destin Hood and Sean Nicol both had two hits in game one. Jimmy Barthmaier pitched three strong innings for the Sens allowing a run on a hit. Harrisburg is now 63-77 and Bowie is 77-63.

Game four of the five game season ending series is at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket and on the Internet through the Senators website beginning at 1:40 p.m.
